Ditch the Welsh "stereotype"?

A new logo has been unveiled, to promote Cardiff on an international level, aimed at ditching the Welsh "stereotype" of daffodils and red dragons.

_44433716_cardifflogo203 Yes this £45,000 project was unveiled to various business leaders and politiciansat Cardiff's Wales Millenium Centre.

As new brands go many people have associated the new logo with "spilled tiidlywinks", smarties, and the old BT logo or a dial from an old fashioned telephone.

The coloured circles are meant to represent the different colours of the city, including the waterfront and the parks.

Chairman Bill Savage said it would help Cardiff stand out from other capital cities.

"We are confident that we have created a distinctive brand for Cardiff that has the potential to give the Welsh capital a competitive advantage that will stand out on the world stage."

The survey, by the Chartered Management Institute says that almost 9 in 10 managers work extra time, averaging to approx. 1 hour 18mins each day. The survey comes after the Trade Union Congress is urging people to work their contracted hours.

Can You Name Your First Aider?

HR Zone has launched an article from the British Red Cross, explaining that studies show less than 60% of workers know where the first aid kit is in their place of work. On top of this, 33% of workers do not know who their first aider at work is.

Apparently, in 2006/7, over 150,000 injuries were reported and 9 million working days were lost due to workplace injury. Health and Safety is a serious issue that is taking a back seat in a lot of organisations.

The research also shows that office workers have limited knowledge of how to treat minor injuries, with over 55% stating that they have never received any form of first aid training.

t2 business solutions offers a bespoke Health and Safety training course for your company, to ensure that you are following the guidelines required for a safe working environment. Our training courses are ideal for all businesses on specific health and safety areas – such as Corporate Manslaughter or Health and Safety for the Office Environment.
